Where in the world is Nerlens Noel?

Published by Yoshi on 18th November - 13:20 (CET)
In West Philadelphia, born and raised,
On the playground was where he spent most of his days,
But then the '16-'17 season came along and now he's recovering from surgery while literally no one has any idea where he is going to play his next game.

Shit, I messed up the flow.

It is easy to love Fresh Prince Nerlens Noel. His smile is wide, his wing span is wider, and his game is a fantasy league monster with a near double double in points and rebounds accompanying his ridiculous 1.8 steals and 1.5 blocks per game last season. But despite all this it seems that the Sixers don't love Noel all that much. His name has continuously been surfacing when answering the inevitable question "which big man will be shipped out of the Sixers jammed frontcourt". With Joel Embiid, Jahlil Okafor, Dario Saric lined up and Ben Simmons eventually working his way back it seems that Noel might be the odd man out.

But unlike Will, Nerlens seems ready to leave Philly without his mom forcing him, as rumor has it Noel would welcome a trade. I know, I also find it absurd that a player would want to play for a different team than the Sixers, but here's the tweet that has people talking:

If that's not a "hint hint" moment, I don't know what is. The Boston Celtics were in talks with the Sixers regarding possible trades on draft night and are again surfacing as potential trading partners with the intention of landing Noel. Apart from the Celtics, the Toronto Raptors have also shown interest in the young forward/center, and either team would obviously be a tremendous upgrade from his perspective. Both the Raptors and the Celtics are positioning themselves to give the Cleveland Cavaliers a fight in the Playoffs, and aquiring a versitile defender with great upside might at least give them one more knife to bring to that gunfight.

With the recovery time for Noel being three-to-five weeks he figures to be back by December, but if he will be putting on Philly gear when he returns remains to be seen. 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo says he will not pull the trigger until the right deal comes along, but if Noel is truly ready to move on it might make sense to ship him sooner rather than later to not cause locker room issues on a team that despite their current woes are poised for a brighter future with a great collection of young talent.

To be really honest I have Nerlens Noel on my fantasy league team and need him to start playing yesterday! Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto, hell even Bel Air, I don't care, just give me those defensive stats, man, I need them!
